Help and FAQ
Install and first start
Is Mimicore safe? Windows says "Windows protected your PC" (SmartScreen)
Mimicore is new and not yet code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen warns about it. Click More info, then Run anyway. The installer installs for your Windows user only and needs no admin rights. Every update is signed and the app verifies the signature before installing it.
What do I need to run Mimicore? System requirements
Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). A DirectX 12 graphics card from NVIDIA, AMD or Intel is recommended for live voices; the 28 effects run on any PC. Training your own voice on the PC needs an NVIDIA GTX 16 or RTX 20 series card or newer with 4 GB or more of memory and the driver installed (and at least 10 GB of free disk space). No NVIDIA card? Train free in the cloud instead.
Does Mimicore work on Mac, Linux, Android or iPhone?
No. Mimicore is for Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) only right now.
How big is the download and how much space does it need?
The installer is about 20 MB. On first start you choose Instant voice cloning (about 1 to 2 GB, the model size is picked for your PC) and/or Trained voices (RVC) (0.3 GB); Mimicore then tunes itself to your PC. Optional add-ons: Trained voices 0.3 GB, Voice Training 2.5 GB (NVIDIA only), Video dubbing about 3.2 GB, the voice gallery 27 MB.
Which quality tier should I choose: Fast, Balanced or Ultra?
You do not have to choose: the Instant voice cloning add-on installs the tier that suits your PC (Fast for weak or integrated graphics, Balanced for mid-range cards, Ultra for strong cards with 6 GB or more) and tunes it. Manual tiers are under Settings > Add-ons > Advanced: model tiers. For reference: Balanced (about 1.3 GB) is the recommended choice for most PCs. Fast (1.1 GB) has the lowest delay and graphics memory use, best for gaming and low-spec PCs. Ultra (1.8 GB) has the most polished speech and files but is about 3 times slower. Every tier speaks 23 languages and you can add or remove tiers any time in Settings > Add-ons.
Does Mimicore need admin rights or an internet connection?
No admin rights: it installs for your Windows user only. The live voice, effects and speech run on your PC, but you need internet to sign in, to download models, and to check your plan. If you go offline, your plan stays valid for up to 7 days, and free live minutes you use offline are sent the next time you are online.
Do I have to sign in to use Mimicore?
Yes. Sign in with Google, Discord or an email code (Settings > Account, or when the app asks). It is free: the Free plan gives 20 live minutes a day.
How do I sign in? The sign-in does not finish or the code email does not arrive
In Mimicore choose Settings > Account > Sign in, pick Google, Discord or email, and confirm on the website page that opens; the app then signs in by itself. If you use email, the 6-digit code can take a minute: check spam, and ask for a new code if it is older than a few minutes. If a sign-in link seems stuck, close the website tab, press Sign in in the app again and use the new page. Still stuck? Press Talk to a person and we open a ticket.
How do I update Mimicore?
Mimicore checks for updates when it starts and every few hours, downloads them in the background and asks you to restart. You can also check yourself: Settings > About > Updates > Check for updates. Updates are signed and verified before installing.
What is an early build (beta) and how do I get one?
If you reported a problem through Support, you get an email with a link to an early build containing the fix, so you can test it before everyone else. It is never installed automatically: open Settings > About > Updates > Check for early release. Afterwards press It is fixed or Still broken on your ticket in the Support tab.
How do I uninstall Mimicore? Are my voices deleted?
Uninstall like any app: Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Mimicore > Uninstall. Uninstalling does not delete your data folder (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Mimicore), so your voices and settings stay. Delete that folder yourself to remove everything.
Where does Mimicore keep my files, voices and logs?
In %LOCALAPPDATA%\Mimicore. Voices are in the voices folder, generated speech in outputs, logs in logs (mimicore.log), settings in settings.json. Open it from Settings > Privacy & data > Open data folder.
Can I move Mimicore to another PC?
Install Mimicore on the new PC and sign in. Copy the voices folder from %LOCALAPPDATA%\Mimicore\voices on the old PC to the same place on the new one to bring your voices. Studio works on up to 2 PCs per account (see Studio PC limit).
The virtual microphone (Discord, Zoom, OBS, games)
How do I use Mimicore in Discord, Zoom, Teams, OBS or a game? Set up the virtual microphone
Open Live > Output > Set up virtual mic. Mimicore downloads the free VB-CABLE driver from vb-audio.com, checks its signature and installs it (click Yes when Windows asks; restart if Windows asks). Then in the other app choose CABLE Output (VB-Audio Virtual Cable) as the microphone. Discord: User Settings > Voice & Video > Input Device. OBS: add an Audio Input Capture source and select CABLE Output. Zoom, Teams, Meet: Settings > Audio > Microphone. Games: set the in-game voice input device, or set CABLE Output as the Windows default recording device.
Discord: people hear me strangely, or Krisp noise suppression ruins the voice
In Discord User Settings > Voice & Video turn off Discord's own Noise Suppression (Krisp) and Echo Cancellation. They fight the changed voice. Keep Mimicore's Noise suppression on instead.
Others cannot hear me / my friends hear nothing
Check that the voice is started (the big Start button shows Live), that Live > Output > Virtual mic is not Off, and that the other app's microphone is CABLE Output (VB-Audio Virtual Cable), not your normal microphone. If the cable does not show in the other app, restart Windows after the VB-CABLE install and open Mimicore again.
The virtual microphone / CABLE Output does not appear in other apps
Restart Windows after the VB-CABLE install, then open Mimicore again. Restart the other app too (Discord, OBS and games only list audio devices when they start). If it still does not appear, run Live > Output > Set up virtual mic again.
Set up virtual mic fails or the VB-CABLE install does not finish
Click Yes on the Windows permission prompt, close other audio apps, and try again. If Windows asks for a restart, restart and press Set up virtual mic once more. Mimicore downloads the VB-CABLE package from vb-audio.com and checks its signature; a blocked download (a firewall, VPN or antivirus) is the usual cause. If it keeps failing, press Report a bug so we can see the log.
I hear an echo or howling
Use headphones, or turn off Hear myself on the Live page. With speakers, the microphone picks up its own output.
How do I hear my own changed voice?
Turn on Hear myself on the Live page (Output section) and pick your headphones as the output. Use headphones so the microphone does not pick up the speakers.
Live voice changer
How do I start the live voice changer?
On Live, pick a voice or effect from the list and press the big Start button, then speak. The status line shows the delay, the processing time per block and any glitches. Press Start again (or use the start/stop hotkey) to stop.
The voice sounds robotic, glitchy or cuts out
Mimicore tunes itself: it benchmarks your PC and, while you talk, lowers the setting by itself within seconds when your PC cannot keep up (and raises it again after a long calm stretch). You can also close other programs that use the graphics card (games, video editors, browsers with video), run Settings > Add-ons > Tune for this PC again, and check Settings > General > Processing uses your best graphics card.
There is too much delay (latency) or lag
Use Low quality on instant voices (about 0.35 s); trained voices have the lowest delay (about 0.3 s on a mid-range GPU and they are auto-tuned to your PC). Bluetooth headsets add their own delay, so use wired headphones. Close other graphics-heavy programs.
What do Low, Medium and High quality mean on the Live page?
They are for instant voices. Low (about 0.35 s delay) reacts fastest, good for gaming. Medium (about 0.45 s) is recommended. High (about 0.5 s) sounds most natural, for streams and recordings. Trained voices are auto-tuned instead.
My microphone is too quiet or too loud
Keep Automatic level on (quiet microphones get louder), or raise the mic level in Windows sound settings. If it is too loud or clipping, move back a little or lower the level in Windows. Calibrate to my voice shows warnings for quiet or clipping microphones.
Keyboard, fan or background noise comes through
Turn on Noise suppression and set the Noise gate to Medium (Off, Light, Medium or Strong). The noise gate silences everything between your words.
How do I pick the right microphone?
On Live, open the Microphone section and choose your microphone from the list (the default is Windows default). Press Refresh after plugging in a new one. The level meter moves while the voice is running. If you unplug a microphone, Mimicore waits for it or falls back to the default microphone.
What is Mute, and what is the Original-voice test (bypass)?
Mute silences your microphone without stopping the voice, so unmuting is instant. Original-voice test (bypass) passes your real voice through unchanged so you can check levels.
What is Voice tuning: pitch and voice strength?
For trained voices only. Pitch shifts in semitones (plus 12 is one octave up). Voice strength sets how strongly the sound is pulled toward the trained voice. Both apply instantly.
What does Calibrate to my voice do?
For trained voices. Read one sentence and Mimicore measures your pitch and your room, then sets the pitch and noise gate for the closest match. The settings are saved for that voice and load when you pick it.
Is there a tour of the app? How do I see what changed after an update?
On a fresh install Mimicore walks you through every page once. After an update that changes the interface it shows a short What's new tour with only the changes; press Escape or Skip tour to close either. Both appear only once.
What is the benchmark and what does Tune for this PC do?
After you install an add-on, Mimicore runs both live engines for a few seconds and measures how long each block takes on your PC. It stores the best quality your PC keeps smooth (strong PCs get the best sound, weak PCs a lighter setting) and uses it when quality is on Auto. Press Run benchmark again in Settings > Add-ons (Tune for this PC) after a hardware or driver change, or if a voice stutters; Thorough test measures more settings. Stop the live voice first.
What do the CPU and GPU numbers on the Live page mean?
The Live engine panel shows how hard Mimicore is working while you are live: block time against block length (the bar must stay under about 85 percent), CPU (the main load of instant voices) and GPU (the main load of trained voices) as a share of your PC, video memory used, glitches (gaps in the sound) and the delay. It also shows the current step, for example Best quality or Light 2, and how often Mimicore adjusted it by itself.
What does Auto quality do while I am live?
Auto starts at the best setting your PC sustained in the benchmark and keeps watching. If blocks take too long or the sound glitches it moves to a lighter setting within seconds and tells you; after a long calm stretch it moves back up, and it stops trying for a while if that fails. You can still pick Low, Medium or High yourself; those also step down when needed but never step up beyond your choice.
My PC is slow (integrated graphics, Ryzen 3, old laptop): what should I use?
Instant voices need a graphics card for smooth live use. On a PC with integrated graphics or less than 3 GB of video memory, the benchmark picks a light setting (longer blocks, about 0.5 to 1.4 seconds of delay) and the Instant voice cloning add-on installs the small Fast model. If it still struggles: use a free voice effect (they run on the CPU and need almost no power), a trained RVC voice (it tunes itself to your PC; on a slow PC it automatically uses longer blocks, a delay of around one second, and switches to even longer ones by itself if it still struggles), or train in the cloud for free. Close browsers and games while live, and plug the laptop in with the power plan set to Best performance.
What does "Struggling" mean in the status line?
Your PC cannot keep up with the live voice right now. Mimicore steps down to a lighter setting by itself after a few seconds. If it stays on Struggling at the lightest setting, close other programs that use the graphics card, run Settings > Add-ons > Tune for this PC, or use a free voice effect.
Can I add an effect on top of my cloned voice?
Yes. Use Live > Add an effect and pick Radio, Cave, Robot or any of the 28 effects; it is layered on top of your voice.
I get "Microphone disconnected" or "Speakers or virtual mic disconnected"
Mimicore reopens an unplugged microphone, speaker or virtual cable by itself and shows a notice while it waits. Plug the device back in or choose another one; if the default microphone is available the live voice continues with it.
The voice engine had a problem and my own voice is passing through
After an error in the voice engine Mimicore passes your own voice through so the call is not silent. Stop and start the live voice to reset it. If it happens again, press Report a bug in Support.
Voices: instant, gallery, mix, train, import
How do I create a voice of my own (instant voice cloning)?
Voices & effects > + Instant voice, give it a name, choose whose voice it is (your own, or someone who gave you permission), record about 15 to 20 seconds of natural speech in a quiet room (or import a clean recording), then Create voice. It is ready in under a minute and works live, in Speak and in Dub. Background noise is removed automatically. Instant voice creation needs the Studio plan (or a Studio trial).
Instant voice says I need Studio or "part of Studio"
Cloning, mixing, importing and training voices, long Speak and Dub clips, and your own voices live are part of the Studio plan. You can start a 7-day Studio free trial on your account page (a refundable small payment-method check; billing starts after the trial; cancel any time before).
What do I need to record a good voice sample?
About 15 to 20 seconds of natural, continuous speech in a quiet room, close to the microphone, not too loud. If the recording is too quiet Mimicore says so; if it clips, move back a little. If there is lots of background noise Mimicore removes it, but a quieter room sounds better.
Does Mimicore ask me to confirm anything when I create a voice?
No. The app has no consent screens, checkboxes or spoken statements. You accept all the terms once, on the download page before you download the installer. They still apply: clone only your own voice or voices you have permission to use.
What is the voice gallery?
19 original ready-made voices, each a blend of two speakers so none copies a real person. In Voices & effects click Get the voice gallery (27 MB) once, press the play button to hear a voice and Add to my voices to use it. Gallery voices are free to use.
What does Mix voices do?
It blends two of your instant voices into a brand-new voice. Move the slider between A and B and press Create mix. Trained (RVC) voices cannot be mixed yet. Mixing is part of Studio.
How do I train a voice for the closest likeness?
Training copies a voice from 10 to 30 minutes of clean recordings of one person. On this PC (NVIDIA card needed): install the Voice Training add-on, add recordings, choose a quality and press Start training (Quick test about 10 to 20 minutes, Good about 25 to 50 minutes, Best about 1 to 2 hours). Without NVIDIA: choose Cloud (free), which trains on a free Google Colab GPU in your own Google account with the same trainer and quality. Training is part of Studio.
How long does voice training take? How long until my trained voice is ready?
Training time depends on the quality you choose: Quick test about 10 to 20 minutes, Good (recommended) about 25 to 50 minutes, Best about 1 to 2 hours on your own NVIDIA card. In the cloud (free Google Colab GPU) it takes longer: about 25 to 40 minutes, 50 to 90 minutes and 1.5 to 3 hours. Keep Mimicore (or the Colab tab) open while it trains.
Training is greyed out or says I need an NVIDIA graphics card
Training on the PC needs an NVIDIA graphics card (GTX 16 or RTX 20 series or newer, 4 GB or more) with its driver installed, and at least 10 GB of free disk space on the drive. Use Cloud (free) instead on any other PC.
Train a voice screen switches to Cloud on its own (fixed in 2.6.0)
Fixed in version 2.6.0: a PC with a usable NVIDIA card now stays on This PC. Update Mimicore (Settings > About > Updates). If you are on 2.6.0 or later and it still happens, press Report a bug.
How does free cloud training work, and is it private?
Voices & effects > Train a voice > Cloud (free): Connect Google Drive and allow access (Mimicore can see only the files it creates), add recordings, choose a quality and press Upload and open Colab. In the Colab tab press the play button, click Run anyway and allow Drive access. Keep the Colab tab open: Mimicore shows progress and installs the voice automatically. Your recordings go only to your own Google Drive and Colab, never to our servers, and are moved to your Drive trash afterwards unless you chose to keep them.
Colab says no GPU is available, or the Colab training stopped
Free Google GPUs are limited at busy times. Try again later; training continues from the last checkpoint. Keep the Colab tab open while it trains. You can restart a stopped training by starting again with the same name.
How do I import an existing RVC voice?
Voices & effects > Import RVC voices, choose the folder containing the voice (.pth or .onnx and an .index file). Only import voices you have the rights to use. Importing is part of Studio.
How do I rename or delete a voice, or turn a recording into a voice (convert a file)?
On the voice card: Rename, Delete (stop the live voice first), Preview to hear a sample, Convert a file to turn a recording into that voice.
Can I use a voice live without the Studio plan?
Built-in voices and gallery voices work live on Free (20 minutes a day) and Live (unlimited). Using your own voices live needs Studio.
Effects and soundboard
What voice effects are there?
28 effects such as Robot, Demon, Chipmunk, Radio, Cave, Cathedral, 8-bit, Giant, Ghost, Elf, Dark Lord, Stadium announcer and Underwater. They run instantly on the CPU and are free with no time limit. Press the play button to hear one and Use to pick it for Live; Apply to a file processes a recording.
How does the soundboard work?
Soundboard has built-in sounds (air horn, applause, drum roll, sad trombone and more). Add sounds brings in your own MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC or M4A clips up to 5 minutes, as many as you like. Click a tile to play it into the virtual microphone; turn on Also play on my speakers to hear it yourself. Give each sound a hotkey, set volumes in Edit and drag tiles to reorder. Sounds play even when the live voice is off.
Soundboard sounds are not heard in Discord
Turn on Play into the virtual mic on the Soundboard page and make sure the other app uses CABLE Output as its microphone.
Speak (text to speech) and Dub
How do I make Mimicore speak text in my voice (text to speech)?
Open Speak, type or paste text (or load a .txt file), pick a voice and a language, adjust Emotion and Variation if you like, then choose Speak now (plays on your speakers and/or the virtual microphone, so people in your call hear it, and a copy is saved) or Save to file (renders a WAV).
Which languages does Speak support?
23 languages: Arabic, Danish, German, Greek, English, Spanish, Finnish, French, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Swahili, Turkish and Chinese.
Speak is limited to 450 characters or 30 seconds
On the Free plan Speak, Dub and file conversion clips are limited to about 30 seconds (Speak about 450 characters). Studio has no limit.
Speak sounds slow to start or is not in my chosen voice
Playback starts after the first sentence (about 1 second); long texts are rendered sentence by sentence. Trained voices speak through the default voice, converted with the pitch matched automatically. The Ultra tier is the most polished for files but slower.
Where are the generated speech files saved?
In %LOCALAPPDATA%\Mimicore\outputs, or where you choose with Save to file. Generated files are marked as AI-generated in their metadata.
How does Dub a video work?
Install the free Dubbing add-on once (Settings > Add-ons, about 3.2 GB). Open Dub a video, choose a file (MP4, MOV, MKV, M4A, MP3 or WAV), the spoken language (or Detect automatically), the target language and a voice, set Original audio, and press Dub it. Mimicore transcribes, translates sentence by sentence, speaks each line in your voice and fits it to the original timing, fully offline. You get a WAV audio track and an SRT subtitle file to add in any video editor.
Dub a video says it needs the Dubbing add-on
Install it in Settings > Add-ons (Video dubbing, about 3.2 GB), then return to Dub a video. It is free.
Can Mimicore put the dubbed audio on the video for me?
Not yet: it creates a WAV track and an SRT subtitle file. Put the audio on the video in any editor (CapCut, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, Clipchamp) and add the subtitles if you like.
Hotkeys
How do I set hotkeys and push-to-talk?
Settings > Hotkeys: click a box, then press a key or combination. Available actions: start/stop the live voice, push-to-talk (hold), mute/unmute, original voice on/off, next/previous voice or effect, switch straight to a voice, and stop all soundboard sounds. Hotkeys work while a game has focus. Use combinations (Ctrl + Alt + key) or keys you do not use elsewhere (F7 to F12, numpad): a bound key is reserved for Mimicore while it runs.
A hotkey does not work or conflicts with another app
Another app may already use that key, or the key is reserved. Pick a different combination such as Ctrl + Alt + a letter. Hotkey problems are listed in Settings > Hotkeys.
Plans, trial, payment and codes
What does the Free plan include? What can I do for free?
20 live minutes per day (refills daily), all 28 effects and the soundboard (unlimited), the voice gallery and built-in voices, and short Speak, Dub and conversion clips (30 seconds). No cloning, mixing, importing or training.
What are the Live and Studio plans and what do they cost?
Live: unlimited live voice changing with built-in and gallery voices. Studio: everything unlimited, including your own voices live, cloning, mixing, importing, training, Speak and Dub. Prices: Live $3.99 per month, $29.99 per year or $49 lifetime (India: Rs 99, 699 or 1,499). Studio $6.99 per month, $49.99 per year or $89 lifetime (India: Rs 149, 999 or 2,999). Choose a plan on the website account page.
How does the 7-day free trial work? What if I forget to cancel?
Monthly and annual plans start with a 7-day free trial. We charge a refundable Rs 2 (or $1) once to verify your payment method and set up autopay, and refund it right away. You get full access for 7 days. Billing starts only when the trial ends; cancel any time before with one click on your account page and pay nothing. If you forget, the plan price is charged when the trial ends and the plan renews until you cancel. One trial per person. Lifetime plans have no trial.
How do I cancel my subscription?
On the website account page under Your subscriptions, one click. Cancelling during the trial ends it at once with nothing charged. Cancelling later stops renewal and the plan keeps working until the end of the period you paid for.
How do refunds work?
Write to us within 7 days of a charge and it is refunded in full (first payment after a trial, renewals you did not mean to make, 30-day and 1-year passes, and Lifetime plans). A duplicate charge, wrong amount, a charge after you cancelled, or a charge that did not give you the plan is always refunded whenever you tell us. Refunds go to the original payment method and show in 5 to 7 working days. A person handles refunds: press Talk to a person in Support, or use the website contact page, and include the email of your Mimicore account and the payment id from your receipt.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payments are processed by Razorpay: UPI or cards in India, and cards worldwide. Prices show in INR for customers in India and in USD elsewhere.
My payment failed or my card was declined
Razorpay retries a failed payment for a few days. If it still fails the subscription is paused and you are not charged. Common causes: an expired card, a low balance, or your bank blocking the recurring charge. Update your payment method or subscribe again on your account page. For a charge that went through but did not give you the plan, press Talk to a person.
I paid but my plan has not changed
Open Settings > Account and press Refresh, or reload the website account page. A plan usually appears within a minute after payment. If it does not, press Talk to a person in Support with the email of your account and your payment id.
Where do I find my invoice or receipt?
On the website account page under Your invoices: open an invoice to view or print it. A receipt is also emailed after each payment.
How do I redeem an invite or gift code?
Sign in on the website account page, type the code in the box under Choose your plan and press Redeem a free code. A gift code gives Live or Studio for a number of days or for life, and works once per account. Discount codes (percent off) are different: they apply when you pick a plan at checkout.
My code says "not valid", "already used" or "expired"
Check for typing mistakes (codes are not case sensitive). "You already redeemed this code" means this account used it. "Already been used up" means the code reached its number of uses. "Expired" means its redeem-by date passed. "This is a discount code" means use it at checkout when you choose a plan instead.
What is the Studio two-PC limit and how do I move to a new PC?
Studio works on up to 2 PCs per account. If you see "This PC isn't linked to your Studio plan", open Settings > Account > Your PCs (or the website account page), remove a PC you no longer use, then press Refresh. A removed PC cannot be used with that account again. Free and Live have no PC limit.
I used my free live minutes. When do they refill?
Free live minutes refill every day. Live or Studio removes the limit. Effects and the soundboard never use free minutes.
I started a trial before and cannot start another
There is one free trial per person and per PC. After the trial you can still subscribe, or use the Free plan. If you think this is a mistake, press Talk to a person.
Account and privacy
Is my voice uploaded to your servers? Is Mimicore private?
No. Live voice, cloning, effects, speech, dubbing and on-PC training all run on your PC. Microphone audio is processed in memory and never stored or sent. We store only your account email, plan and payment records. Optional cloud training uses only your own Google Drive and Colab, never our servers. Error reports are off unless you turn them on, and a support ticket sends only what you approve.
What data do you store about me?
Your email address, sign-in method, plan and subscription status, free minutes used today, payment records (payment id, plan, amount, time), and for Studio the list of your PCs. We never receive your audio, voices, recordings or the text you type. Details: the privacy policy on the website.
How do I export or delete my account and my data?
In Mimicore: Settings > Privacy & data > Export my account data, or Delete my account. The same is on the website account page. Cancel any active subscription first. Deleting removes your plan, sign-in, tickets, chats and logs; payment records stay for accounting without a link to your account. Voices and files on your PC are not affected.
What are error reports and should I turn them on?
Settings > Privacy & data > Send error reports (off by default). When on, a crash sends a short technical report (error message, app version, Windows version, a random installation id). Never audio, voices, text, your email or your account. Kept for 90 days. It helps us fix bugs.
What does Copy support info contain?
Settings > Privacy & data > Copy support info copies versions, graphics card, key settings and the last log lines, with your Windows user name and email addresses removed. Paste it into an email. In Support you can instead press Report a bug and approve the log that gets attached.
Can I clone any voice, such as a celebrity?
Only your own voice, or a voice whose owner gave you permission. Mimicore marks generated files as AI-generated. Impersonation, fraud and deception are forbidden by the Acceptable Use Policy.
What is the age limit?
Mimicore is for people 18 or older.
Support, tickets and contact
How do I contact a person? Where is the support email?
Press Talk to a person in the Support tab and I will create a ticket for you; you get an email at every step. The website contact page lists the support email for billing, refunds and security reports.
How do I report a bug?
In Support, describe what you did and roughly when, then press Report a bug. Mimicore picks the matching part of its local log, removes your Windows user name and email addresses, and shows you what it would attach; nothing is sent until you press Send ticket with log (or Send without log). You can follow the ticket in Your tickets and get emails at every step.
What happens after I report a bug?
You get an email right away. Our automatic engineers analyse it: if it is not a defect you receive an explanation by email; if it is a real defect it is confirmed to you, a fix is built and tested, and you get an email with an early build to test. Press It is fixed or Still broken on your ticket. A person steps in if the automatic fix cannot solve it.
How long does a fix take?
It can take some time because every fix is tested before it reaches anyone. You get an email at each step, and your ticket's status is always shown in Support under Your tickets. I cannot promise a date.
The app crashed or will not start
Restart Mimicore. If it keeps failing, open Support and press Report a bug (the log from the crash is attached with your approval), or copy support info from Settings if the app opens. If a new version fails to start three times, Mimicore rolls back to the previous release by itself and does not offer that version again.

More questions
Does Mimicore work with Valorant, Fortnite, CS2, VRChat, Roblox, Minecraft, Skype, WhatsApp, Telegram, Twitch or TikTok Live?
Mimicore works with any PC app or game that lets you choose a microphone: set CABLE Output (VB-Audio Virtual Cable) as the microphone or input device in that app, or set it as the Windows default recording device. It does not touch the game itself. It does not work for phone calls on a phone.
Will I get banned in a game for using a voice changer?
Mimicore does not modify or inject into any game: it only provides a virtual microphone. Whether a game or server allows voice changers is up to that game's rules, so check them. Never use a voice to deceive, harass or impersonate anyone: see the Acceptable Use Policy.
Can I make my voice sound like a woman, a man, a child or another gender?
Use a gallery voice (19 original voices, free), an effect such as Chipmunk or Giant, or create an instant or trained voice of a person who gave you permission. Trained voices also have a Pitch control (semitones). Mimicore does not change a voice's gender by a single switch.
Is there a limit on how long I can talk live?
On the Free plan, 20 live minutes per day with built-in or gallery voices (it refills daily). Live and Studio plans have no live limit.
Can I use Mimicore for phone calls?
Mimicore changes the voice on your PC, so it works in calling apps on your PC (Zoom, Teams, Discord, Skype, WhatsApp Desktop) with CABLE Output as the microphone. It does not work on your phone or for normal phone-network calls.
Does Mimicore use a lot of my graphics card or CPU?
Typical use stays under 2 GB of graphics memory (the multilingual speech tier peaks around 4.6 GB). Effects run on the CPU. If the live status says Struggling, close other graphics-heavy programs, choose Low quality or the Fast tier.
Does Mimicore work with a USB microphone, Bluetooth headset or webcam microphone?
Yes: choose it in Live > Microphone. Bluetooth headsets add their own delay, so a wired headset is better for live use.
How do I change the language of the app or switch dark mode?
Settings > General > Appearance & language: choose dark, light or match Windows, and the language (English, Hindi, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Russian, Japanese or Indonesian).
Can Mimicore keep running in the background or system tray?
Yes: Settings > General > Window: turn on Closing the window keeps the app running in the tray. Quit from the tray icon. Hotkeys and the live voice keep working while it runs.
How do I fully close or quit Mimicore?
If closing the window only hides it in the tray, right-click the Mimicore tray icon and choose Quit.
Can I use Mimicore for YouTube videos, podcasts, audiobooks or voiceovers?
Yes. Speak turns typed text into speech in your voice and saves it as a WAV; Dub a video translates a video's speech into another language in your voice. Use the Ultra tier for the most polished speech. Only use voices you have the rights to.
Can I use the voices commercially or monetise content made with Mimicore?
Your own voice and voices you have permission for can be used in your content. The License requires that you never present output as a real person's genuine speech when they did not say it, that you disclose AI-generated audio wherever the law or the context requires it, and that you do not remove the AI-generated marking Mimicore adds to saved files. Read the License on the website for the exact terms.
Is there an affiliate program, student discount or education pricing?
I do not know of one. Plans and prices are on the website account page. Press Talk to a person if you have a special request.
Does Mimicore have an API, a plugin for OBS or Stream Deck support?
Not yet. Today you use Mimicore through its hotkeys and the CABLE Output virtual microphone in OBS or any other app.
Can I get the source code?
The app's source code is private. The cloud-training notebook is open source at github.com/ribanixlabs/mimicore-app.
Who makes Mimicore?
Mimicore is made by Ribanix Labs. The tagline is Clone. Change. Create.
Which quality tier fits my graphics card? How much graphics memory do I need?
Fast works with 2 GB or more of graphics memory, or on the CPU: the lowest lag, for gaming and low-spec PCs. Balanced is best with 4 GB or more of graphics memory and is recommended for most PCs. Ultra (studio-grade 10-step decoder) wants 6 GB or more and is about 3 times slower; the live voice always uses the Balanced decoder. Any DirectX 12 graphics card from NVIDIA, AMD or Intel works through DirectML.
What is VB-CABLE and is it safe? Why does Mimicore install a driver?
VB-CABLE is a free virtual audio cable by VB-Audio (vb-audio.com), donationware you can support on their site. Mimicore downloads it from vb-audio.com, checks that the installer is genuinely signed by VB-Audio, and installs it after Windows asks your permission. It creates the CABLE Output microphone that Discord, Zoom, OBS and games can use.
Colab asks "Are you still there?" or my cloud training stopped updating
Keep the Colab tab open. If Colab asks whether you are still there, click it so the session continues. If there is no update for a while the Colab session may have stopped: open Colab and press the play button again; training continues from the last saved checkpoint.
My cloud-trained voice is ready in Drive but not installed yet
When training finishes Mimicore installs the voice automatically, but it can take a while to download. You can start the install yourself from the cloud job in Voices > Train a voice > Cloud (press Install).
Are the downloaded models safe? Where do they come from?
Mimicore downloads the voice models (Chatterbox by Resemble AI and RVC v2, MIT licensed) from Hugging Face and GitHub and checks every file against known checksums. They are kept on your computer and run with Microsoft ONNX Runtime and DirectML. Nothing you record is ever uploaded.
It says the free trial was already used on this PC by another account
There is one free trial per person and per PC, so another account on this PC already used it. You can still use the Free plan, or subscribe to Live or Studio on your account page. If you think this is a mistake, press Talk to a person.
What sentence do I read for Calibrate, and how long?
Calibrate to my voice (trained voices only) shows a sentence on screen: read it in your normal speaking voice, about 5 to 12 seconds. Mimicore measures your pitch and your room, then sets pitch and noise gate for the closest match.
Does Mimicore use my graphics card or CPU for speech?
Speech synthesis and voice conversion run on your graphics card (the one picked in Settings > General > Processing), and text understanding runs on the CPU. The 28 effects run on the CPU.
What is the best way to get a very close copy of my voice?
Train a voice (Voices & effects > Train a voice) from 10 to 30 minutes of clean recordings of one person, in a quiet room, with the Good or Best quality. An instant voice from 15 to 20 seconds is quicker but less exact. Then use Calibrate to my voice on the Live page.
More error messages and known limits
"Windows is blocking microphone access"
Windows privacy settings stop desktop apps from using the microphone. Open Windows Settings > Privacy and security > Microphone, turn on "Let desktop apps access your microphone" (and the main "Microphone access" switch), then press Start again in Mimicore. This is a Windows setting; Mimicore cannot change it for you.
"Microphone ... is not connected" or "Output ... is not connected"
The device you picked in Live is not plugged in or has been renamed. Pick another device in the Microphone or Output list (Windows default always works), press Refresh, and start again.
"No speakers or headphones found" or "Nothing to output"
Mimicore needs somewhere to send the changed voice: switch on Hear myself (choose your speakers or headphones) or pick the virtual microphone (CABLE Input) under Output.
"Audio did not start (timed out)"
The audio devices did not answer in time. Close other apps that hold the microphone or speakers (a call, a recorder), choose the Windows default devices, and press Start again. If it happens again, press Report a bug in Support.
"Not enough disk space: the Training Pack needs about ... GB free"
Free up space on the drive where Mimicore keeps its data (C: by default), or use Cloud (free) training instead, then install the Voice Training add-on again.
Google Drive errors: "Google access expired or was removed" or "Google Drive access was not allowed"
Open Settings > Add-ons > Cloud training and press Disconnect, then connect Google Drive again and tick the Google Drive box when Google asks. Mimicore only needs the permission to see the files it creates.
"The trained voice has not arrived in Drive yet"
The cloud training is finishing. Wait a minute and try again; Mimicore installs the voice automatically when it appears.
"The recording is ... s long. At least ... s of speech is needed"
Record longer, clearer speech: 15 to 20 seconds for an instant voice. Quiet rooms work best.
The dubbed audio sounds literal or the translation is odd
Dubbing translates sentence by sentence and idioms can come out literal, and short lines can be merged. Use clear speech in the original video, short sentences, and check the SRT subtitle file before you publish.
Why do gallery voices mostly sound English or American?
The gallery voices are original blends of English-speaking voices, so most carry English accents. For other accents create your own instant voice or train one.
Can I switch between Live and Studio, or monthly and annual?
Yes: choose the new plan under Choose your plan on the website account page. A plan change starts when your current plan's paid period ends, so you do not lose paid time. If something looks wrong, press Talk to a person.
Does the trial or subscription need a card? Can I use UPI?
Yes: to start a trial Razorpay charges a refundable Rs 2 (or $1) to verify your payment method and set up autopay. In India UPI autopay and cards work; outside India use a card. Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing.
How do I sign out or switch to another account?
Settings > Account > Sign out, then sign in with the other account (Google, Discord or email code).
How do I change my email address?
Your account is tied to the email you signed in with (Google, Discord or an email code). To move to another address, sign in with that address (it is a separate account) or press Talk to a person and we will help.
Do you charge tax or GST? Can I get a GST invoice?
Invoices are on your account page under Your invoices. The seller details on them are those of Ribanix Labs. Press Talk to a person if you need a specific invoice change.
Can I use two microphones at once, or mix my voice with music?
Mimicore uses one microphone at a time: choose it in Live > Microphone. To bring in music or other sounds, use the Soundboard (clips play into the virtual microphone) or your streaming software's own mixer.
Rules of use
What am I not allowed to do with Mimicore? What does the Acceptable Use Policy say?
Always: clone only your own voice or the voice of a person who gave clear, informed permission for this specific purpose (written permission is recommended); get the speaker's consent yourself; tell people when speech is AI-generated whenever they could be misled; keep the AI-generated marking in saved files. Never: impersonate a real person without permission (including public figures, celebrities, family, colleagues, officials or support agents); commit or help with fraud, scams, phishing or extortion, or get past voice authentication (banks, phone systems); put words in a real person's mouth and present them as genuine; make robocalls or mass calls; create election, political or news deepfakes; create sexual or intimate content with a real person's voice without consent, or any content involving minors; clone a child's voice; harass, threaten or defame anyone; infringe copyright, personality, publicity or privacy rights; clone a voice taken from calls, videos or broadcasts of someone who has not agreed; or break any law that applies to you. Breaking these rules ends your right to use Mimicore.
How do I report someone misusing Mimicore or a voice used without permission?
Write to the support address on the website's contact page with the subject "Abuse report", or press Talk to a person in Support. Security problems go the same way; please give us a chance to fix them before sharing them publicly.
Can I share my Studio account or use it on many computers?
Studio works on up to 2 PCs at a time and sharing one account beyond that is not allowed. Free and Live plans are not tied to a PC. Creating several accounts to collect extra free trials is also not allowed.
Is the license personal? Can I resell or lend Mimicore?
The license is personal and non-transferable, for lawful use on devices you own or control. You may not sell, rent, lease or sublicense Mimicore. Invite and discount codes are personal and have no cash value.
Does Mimicore give any warranty? What if voice cloning fails or is imperfect?
Mimicore is provided as is, without warranty: voice cloning and conversion can be imperfect, delayed or fail. For quality problems try the Ultra tier, a cleaner recording, or training a voice; if something looks broken press Report a bug.
What happens to what I type in Support? Is it sent to an AI company?
Yes: your messages go to our server and, to write the answer, to a third-party AI provider (currently Groq). Please do not type passwords, payment details or other secrets. Chat messages are not stored except in a ticket (when one is created) and as a short rating record when you press Yes or No under an answer. A ticket contains the conversation and, only if you approve it on screen, a scrubbed part of the app log; it is analysed by an AI model from a third-party provider (currently Anthropic) to find and fix the problem. Tickets and ratings are deleted when you delete your account. See the Privacy policy on the website.
I live outside India: do I pay in USD? Is there a free trial for me?
Prices show in INR for customers in India and in USD elsewhere (Live $3.99 per month, $29.99 per year or $49 lifetime; Studio $6.99, $49.99 or $89). Where USD autopay is not yet available, USD customers buy one-time 30-day or 1-year passes that do not renew by themselves, and lifetime plans are one-time payments; the free trial applies to monthly and annual autopay plans. Payments are processed by Razorpay with a card.
What is the difference between the monthly pass and the subscription?
A subscription renews by itself every month or year until you cancel. A one-time pass (offered where autopay is not available) gives 30 days or 1 year once and does not renew. Lifetime is a one-time payment. You can see which one you have under Your subscriptions on the website account page.
What is the difference between an instant voice and a trained voice?
An instant voice is made from about 15 to 20 seconds of your own speech and is ready in under a minute: good for most uses, works live, in Speak and in Dub. A trained voice is built from 10 to 30 minutes of clean recordings of one person (on your NVIDIA card or free in the cloud) and gives the closest likeness and the lowest delay live; you can also calibrate its pitch to match you. Both need the Studio plan.
Do I need a graphics card to use Mimicore?
No card is needed for the 28 effects and the soundboard (they run on the CPU). For the live voice, a DirectX 12 graphics card from NVIDIA, AMD or Intel is recommended (Fast tier: 2 GB or more of graphics memory, or the CPU). Training your own voice on the PC needs an NVIDIA card (GTX 16 or RTX 20 series or newer, 4 GB or more); without one, use the free cloud training.
How do I hear the soundboard sounds myself?
On the Soundboard page turn on "Also play on my speakers" (and keep "Play into the virtual mic" on so other people hear them too). This is separate from "Hear myself" on the Live page, which plays your changed voice.
How do I see whether my free trial is active and when it ends?
Settings > Account shows your plan with a trial tag and the date it runs until; on the website account page, Your subscriptions shows the trial end date and whether it will renew. You also get an email when the trial starts and another two days before it ends.
Do you accept euros, pounds or other currencies?
Prices are shown in INR for customers in India and in USD everywhere else; there are no euro or pound prices. If your card is in another currency your bank converts the USD amount at its own rate. Payments are processed by Razorpay.
How do I change my password? I forgot my password
Mimicore has no password of its own: you sign in with Google, Discord or a one-time code sent to your email. To change a password, change it with Google or Discord. If the sign-in code does not arrive, check spam and ask for a new code.
